Karen Eschbach
Legal Assistant
After graduating with her paralegal degree, Karen initially worked for two years in litigation department of a large law firm, before transferring to the Medicaid department. There, for ten years, her responsibilities included handling Administrative Fair Hearings for Medicaid denials, preparation of cases for persons in need of a guardian, as well as preparing training manuals and conducting Medicaid training seminars within her department. Thereafter she worked for seven years at the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System with the Social Work departments at Plainview and Syosset Hospitals, and assisted patients with obtaining Medicaid home care and nursing home care assistance.
In 2002, Karen brought her knowledge and experience to the Atlas Law Group and is part of the Medicaid team responsible for assisting our clients with the preparation and submission of their Medicaid home care and nursing home applications. As part of that responsibility, Karen helps our clients establish their participation with Pooled-Income Trusts and coordinates with the Medicaid offices and Managed Long Term Care Offices to ensure that our clients receive quality home care services.
Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, as well as taking long walks and reading a good mystery or thriller. She supports her local parish where she and her husband have been facilitating Pre-Cana marriage preparation programs and baptism orientation for young families for many years.
